Chapter 15: Let the celebration begin

"Diana wake up!"

It was when her eyes snapped open that Diana realized she was the one screaming.

She shot up in bed, breathing hard, eyes wide and darting around frantically. Her night dress was damp with perspiration, her hair plastered to her face.

Someone touched her and she gasped, scooting away from the physical contact.

"Diana, it's me," Luna Catherine said worriedly. "It's mom. You just had a bad dream."

Realizing that it was indeed her mother in the room with her, Diana's face crumpled and she began to sob.

"Oh, mom," she sobbed, letting her mother fold her in her embrace.

"There, there, that's enough," Luna Catherine whispered, caressing Diana's back soothingly. "It was just a bad dream. You're fine now. Just a bad dream."

"I was so scared," Diana whimpered, her tears spilling down her cheeks freely. "It was so dark in the forest, and I was so scared."

"It was all a dream," Luna Catherine repeated and kissed her hair. "No one will hurt you. You're safe."

It is going to take time to adjust. Hope Diana can control her temper. She may learn what she is and who she is. Red eyes? I hope she isn't a vampire.
