I looked out the window from my bedroom and saw Blake and Kate coming up the drive. I was sure they had more to tell me about Curtis and my whole body felt unstable. I had felt numb for the last two days since we’d left the beach house. I hadn’t started doing some reflection however and started to realize in my mind that I may have not truly known Curtis or for that matter loved him. I had been so caught off the card by Curtis when I first met him because I wasn’t sure if love or a real relationship was for me. He was so polite, cute, and charismatic that I was drawn to the idea of someone like him wanting me. Now that I had some space from him, I realized I was being fooled the whole time by a really good con artist.
