28. Drenched Chloe, Wrong Timings

I was really becoming nervous about it all. I had a date with Jackson and I needed Chloe’s help with my outfit. And, she was not in the best of moods right now. Her breakup had made her a shadow of herself.

So, I pondered on what to do exactly. As an idea sprung into my head, which made me stand up abruptly. I grabbed my purse, sunshades and scarf to disguise before I stepped out of the house.

I had personally called the chauffeur the company had assigned to me. After he arrived, he drove me to Chloe’s house after I had directed him to the way. I thanked him before walking to her doorstep. I pressed the door bell but no one had replied so I had no option than to enter her apartment.

“Chloe?” I called out
