"Enjoyed your jaunt to New York or there are still some places left?"

Damien rasped and looked at Emmaline who was silently fuming. His mordant tone was enough to char her. She curled her fingers in a tight fist, her nails carved crescent-shaped blood moons on her palms.

‘He isn’t even afraid of getting caught rather is shamelessly admitting that it was all his deeds.’

Incensed, Emmaline jumped to her feet and pushed Damien back, “Making fun of someone’s plight? Is this the propriety of such a high-profile man like you?” She spoke in an acrimonious tone but Damien continued smirking. He was enjoying her fuming like an inferno.

“Well, my propriety advised me to help a poor teen who has been left out in the cold because she burnt her bridges by squandering all her money, kicked her esteemed job, and is now begging on the streets to earn a few bucks.”
