3: THE SIEGE PLAN

The Kingdom of Silla is a city of stoned and bricked floors, with tall buildings jolted to the sky as if they are challenging the gods. A pointed twin-towered structure stands at the middle of the city surrounded by large walls. Some parts of its kingdom is covered by the sea. The majority of the towns people however, are plagued with diseases, and the city waters were contaminated. Poverty, pain, and suffering are everyday life for the kingdom of Silla. The grasses and flowers slowly withers away.

It’s a regular day in the city of Silla, pedestrians walk to and fro, merchants on their carts pulled by horses. The Summoned one in a red hooded robe walks among people engaged in their daily lives. The hooded man stands in front of the twin-towered structure and he sees a humanoid magical spirit floating by his right-hand side.

"It appears your plan worked. The hands of misfortune have the city plagued. Although King Gregory III appears to be tough and decisive, he has a weak conscience” the hooded man says to the Magical spirit. “If we can make him move on the chessboard, my revenge might happen sooner than I expect. Think about it, if-''

"Remember my promise!” the spirit cuts in as it appears front of him like clouded smoke in a hooded cloak. “This plan is not just about you. As promised I will help you with all you need, and you shall have your vengeance on the kingdoms that did you wrong. But it is for an appointed time. You are still very young, we have to give children and cause a war that would end the destiny of this world and free my master.”

"Right, right." The red-hooded man replied as he leaves, walking about the city. He meets a certain man who he gives instructions to wait at the flower field. Then he walked into the twin-towered structures.

A large palace door in full pattern armored with rose is swings open by guards. The footsteps of the red hooded man are heard. He walks into the palace in his combat buckled shoes. The king seated majestically on his throne with a crown on his head. He is round short man with a blonde hair, a wrinkled face, sharp pair of purple eyes, and a full mustache clustered with his beards. He has on a rose-patterned purple robe.

“And who might you be?” says the king.

"I am your humble servant, your majesty” the red-hooded man responds as he bow before the king. “I have come bringing with me solutions to the problem that troubles you, my king.""Hmmph!” the King exclaims. “Do you have a name? What do you know about my troubles?”

“Oh my apologies your majesty. I have been called by different names, but I call myself Summoned one the magician” he says as he lifts his face to the king. “I took time to examine your city. The waters are polluted, your people suffer from an incurable plaque, and there is food shortage. All these problems are due to the soil in the land of the Silla kingdom. It is on the verge of Black Death. This is a curse from a deity called the goddess of misfortune. She brings misfortune to kingdoms, cities, causes war, and strives to bring despair, sorrows, and fear. Her strength is to absorb these negative feelings of the people to strengthen her powers."

“And why would she bring misfortune on my land?” asks the king. “I have done her no wrong."

“You don't have to do her wrong for her to bring misfortune.” The red-hooded man replies. “Although, you have a sin that encourages her to carry out the punishment on your land. Legend has it that she was sealed up by a certain cardinal guardian. She gathers sorrows and despair like incense. Once the solar eclipse occurs, that is the black sun, she uses that strength to weaken the barrier seal to free herself known as black death, and until then the world is not a safe place. However, I have solutions to this trouble, it includes something that might interest you.”

"What might that be?” asks King Gregory.

"Children! Immortality! Power over all kingdoms!” exclaims the red-hooded man. “But there is a price to pay."

"Leave us!" The king yells. Swiftly the guards and consorts within the palace walk out and shut the door behind them. "Ok, you have my attention. What's the price I must pay?"

"War, your majesty!” the red-hooded man exclaims.

"War?"

"Yes. A war of five kingdoms” the hooded man replies. “I will give you children and power apart from the war you already have, through the art of lost magic. I will train them. Once they come of age, they will wage war in all kingdoms and they shall rule as kings. Then Silla and other kingdoms shall be united under one banner and that would be Silla of Rose. I will be the only magician and adviser of your land.

“There is only one way to restore your land, you have to raise an army right now and then we match to Dragonuts of Lukedonia. We would steal the essence heart of magic which is called The Rune Stone of Magic. Its magical powers will restore the kingdoms of humans. The plaque will not just affect your kingdom but will spread to other kingdoms slowly. Therefore, anyone who would want their kingdom restored must submit to your rule as one true king. That is how you can slowly but surely create barracks of armies in their kingdoms and take over it. Its magical powers will restore the kingdom of Humans.”

“Humph! Interesting.” The king says. “But why Silla? There are other kingdoms that you could go to”

"Well, after the loss of the Ottoman Empire, I heard your majesty had a hand in the fall of the powerful Roland kingdom. Now they pay homage to you, other kingdoms who saw the powerful kingdom of Roland fall to her knees. They now see you as a threat and a kingdom that they should not mess with. Getting power over other kingdoms would only make you more powerful, all-powerful!" the red-hooded man exclaims.

"Indeed! Summoned one, you are correct” the king states. “I seek adventure and power to rule as the most powerful king of all just like King Oregon, but I have one little problem with your plan. The dragons of Lukedonia in the Dark Continent are known as ancient and the most powerful magical dragons. Some say they are the reason why magic exists in the world. You want us to steal the source of all magic from them. One elemental breath from their mouth can set ablaze an entire powerful human army. So how do you intend to get to their border with an army? I suppose you have a plan.”

"Yes, your majesty, I do have a plan” the red-hooded man says mischievously. I have been hatching this plan for a very long time. I went to the borders of Lukedonia and I almost got in. I have a map view of the city, the essence heart of magic. The rune stone which is at the heart of the city is kept in the capital called Dragonuts of Lukedonia. Its magic spreads like a barrier over the city. I couldn't get much detail because I was almost burnt to a crisp by a powerful flame dragon. However, I met a banished dragon named Eragon. Eragon intends to become the king Drakon of Lukedonia. He lost in the fight to become king. I was brought to this capital and I discovered that Eragon is willing to help".
