126: Bottomless pit

SCARLETT

If my first day was hell, the four days that followed placed me in the bottomless pit.

Every was the same. No excitement. No surprises. Just the same boring tasks everyday and having to listen to Logan whine about things that made me imagine killing him in a thousand and one ways.

But it was Friday now and I didn’t have to be around all the maddening things that made me hate my new job from 5pm today until another cursed Monday morning. I was staring idly at the wall clock hit 4:37 pm when Ashley walked out of Logan’s office adjusting her skirt and smiling to herself.

They did it pretty often. Shutting the doors and fucking each other’s brains out. And I made a conscious effort to block my wolf’s hearing so I wouldn’t pick up anything that would scar my memory.

“You always look bored out of your mind sitting behind that desk,” Ashley spoke, sympathy dancing in her eyes as she approached me.

I looked bored, but really, I was on the verge of running mad.
