Richard swerved to a halt in the middle of the road and then turned to look at me. “Laura?” He whispered, utterly stunned.

I remained silent.

“You guessed right!” She cooed. “It's been so long; didn't you miss me?”

I clenched my fists, boiling anger coursing through me. She must be crazy.

"Well, I heard you're divorced now?”she continued. “Finally,” she sighed. “At least you can…”

Squeezing my eyes shut, I took a breather. “Don’t you dare call me again,” I muttered, trying to keep my voice low and calm, and then hung up.
