Chapter 20
My last day with Ryan and I was absolutely gutted thinking about it because even though I had just spent two days with him, I was absolutely used to his presence around me. I was used to his soft, tender touches, his melodic voice that always sounded like a song and his caring nature. The way he cared about my diet and the way he treated me, made me feel important and loved.
His phone rang, disturbing the comfortable silence we were sharing as we were cuddled on the couch. He groaned in annoyance before he answered the call, pulling apart from me.
"I'll be back in a second." He left the couch. I gave him a nod before he sprinted off.
I was thirsty so, I decided to grab myself something to drink. Anything that my hand would lay on in the fridge. I made my way to the kitchen and grabbed a tin from the refrigerator. I was on my way back when I heard Ryan’s distressed voice as he was talking to someone.

"I'm back!" I announced as soon as I entered the house, bag on my shoulder and ice cream in one hand, melting and dripping down and my other hand trying to stop it from falling on the cleaned floor of my house. I felt so paranoid when I was walking down to Ryan’s office. I felt like I was being followed constantly or someone was watching me. This time I decided to stop and ask. Not that the person following me would ever answer but why not take a chance. "Hello?" My voice echoed back in the empty hallways of the school because students were at cafeteria. "Is anybody there?" I tried my luck one more time. When I received no response, I was ready to turn around and leave but then I felt a hand on my shoulder, making me jump and get into defensive position. "Whoa! It's me... Isaac." The voice confirmed it was Isaac. I relaxed and huffed a breath. "You scared me." "I’m sorry I didn't mean to... So, how was your weekend?" His voice held a teasing tone which was enough to tell me who told him. "Keith told you." I said. It wasn't a question. I knew Keith. He was Mr. loose lips. "Yeah, it kinda slipped out of his mouth." He chuckled.

I totally forgot that a certain guy knew about our relationship and he was basically blackmailing me. Ryan confessing his feelings for me was the only thing that mattered. "You look happy?" Well, here I was, straddling him on the couch in his house after a hot make-out session. As soon as I stepped inside my home, I had a weird feeling in my stomach. It felt like something was wrong. “Ops sorry!” Of course, I bumped into someone while making my way to the cafeteria. I was considering starting the use of my cane again since I was bumping into everyone lately. “Oi, it’s me, Mateo.” I heard his voice as an arm draped over my shoulder. I sighed. “Mateo, just because you don’t have friends and I'm not talking to mine, doesn’t mean that we are friends.” I shrugged off his arm. “But we both don’t have anyone to spend time with so, why not spend it together?” He didn’t wait to throw his arm again over my shoulder. “Spend the time with my bully? No, thanks.” I stepped away, pushing away his arm. “But I thought I apologized and you forgave me for.” He wasn’t backing down from placing his arm over my shoulders like we were childhood best friends. “Yeah, that was before you played me and left me alone in the park where I almost got r*ped. Thank you.” I scoffed and pushed him away from me so he wouldn’t touch me again.
