CHAPTER 18 ~ EYES CANNOT LIE
~ Cassandra~
I hop off the stool abandoning my bowl of half-eaten soup and goes get dressed, Michael heading for the shower. It’s cold out and I dress in black skinny jeans, a white sweater and a beanie, Michael donning his crisp grey suit. He looks so sexy and intimidating that I have to suppress a shiver every time I look at him.
We reach the office with no hassle, having Michael's extended security team helps but it also draws more attention than I’m used to.
Once safely inside the building, I sense Michael turning his cold, intimidating exterior on, the one that I am not used to seeing anymore. Michael’s hand goes straight to my back, leading me inside and towards the lift. Ali follows along with Louis and two other guards. People are staring and Michael isn’t fazed one single bit.

~ Michael ~ I had a meeting with my brother Eren about how we should cool down the matter about Cassandra and me and what I should do to protect her from everything or everyone but rather than that I was missing her all the time. I was waiting for the meeting to wrap up soon so I would go to her. I know she is with my niece and they might be enjoying each other's company without getting bored. That's what makes me itch to go to them to witness them playing around. I hurried to end this meeting as soon as possible with an unreasonable solution. ~AUTHOR’S POV~ Cassandra wakes to a click and comes face to face with Michael and Eren snapping a few pics of her and Ava. “Sorry, we fell asleep” Cassandra whispers. “We’re sorry the meeting ran late, thank you for watching her Cassandra, she’s smitten,” Eren says. “I am too,” Cassandra smiles. As Eren’s face reflects her and picks Ava up, they say goodbye and Eren leaves the office. Cassandra looks toward Michael as she notices his clenched jaw as she gazes at his tight-fisted hands, she wonders what he’s thinking but pushes the thought back when Michael smiles and sits next to Cassandra on the couch and kisses on her couch... “Thank you for watching, Ava,” Michael says.

~ AUTHOR’S POV ~ “Hiya kiddo,” Aaron says as Cassandra enters the kitchen later that night after she’s showered. “Aaron,” Cassandra says and rushes forward into Aaron’s waiting arms. Aaron looks at his little sister with adoration, she is dressed in black sweats and Michael’s grey hoodie and Aaron thinks she’s so tiny and adorable in those clothes. Michael was presented there as he watches on fondly as Aaron picks Cassandra up, cuddles her, and places her on the bench. He then stands in front of Cassandra smiling. ~ MICHAEL~I could not understand a single thing when Cassandra yelled at her brother. I had some idea it’s something about her nightmare when she mentioned her nightmares, but why does she have to be so devastated when she talks about it. ~ MICHAEL ~ “What is it that you want me to tell you?” We heard a voice as we turned our face towards the door and saw Izan and Aiden standing on the threshold. As usual, Aiden was wearing his scowl, his face always stays like this, you can barely see him laugh and smile about anything unless Cassandra and I know why he stays like this...Being the elder son of the face, comes with so many responsibilities, and he has so many matters to solve and to worry over and I know most of the reasons for those worries are Cassandra and her health. On the other hand, my eyes went to Izan’s face who always stays smiling no matter what as he says it’s his way to jerk away from the worries with his charming smile.
