Part Ninety-Four

Gage unzipped his jacket and hung it in the foyer closet and put his helmet on the shelf next to his gloves. He closed the door and looked at Anya where she leaned against the wall of the hallway leading to the sitting room.

“Did you get settled in alright?” Gage asked her.

“Yes. I have settled in,” Anya replied.

“Good, we should talk and get the awkwardness out of the way.”

Gage walked towards the kitchen and opened the fridge. He took out the bottle of juice and turned towards the cabinets to find Anya behind him holding out two glasses. Seems like she also made herself acquainted with where everything was.

“Thanks,” Gage said and filled both glasses. It was nearing lunch time and he was hungry. Anya must be hungry too. He’d left her last night at midnight and he had no idea if she’d eaten or not.
