The Moon goddess walked back to her shrine. The soft glow of her presence resonated and illuminated the leaves of where she walked pass.
Her face was covered, no one had seen her face before. She always had a black veil dolled over her face. She had a human shape. She was the one who did.Others could change their figures if need be but they could not be in their human shapes for too long. They usually went back to their normal wolf forms at the dawn of night. But the moon goddess was always in her human form. This made it a little wonder as to how she was able to achieve it and how she could see even with her face she always had dolled up with a black veil that hid her looks. She felt it at first as a faint prickling at the edge of her senses. No one would dare. She thought. Everyone revered her because she beared the Oracle's words to them. No wolf would dare. But then a whisper of caution made her glance around. She could tell because she could notice. Shadows seemed to shift, the trees rustled with an unnatural hush, the air carried a tension that was not typical of the serene realm she had always walked.Someone was following her. With a calm but yet vigilant demeanor, she quickened her pace not wanting to turn nor confront her pursuer directly. The sensation of her being tailed grew more obvious and stronger, the presence behind her refused to be ignored. Whoever it was, the person was skilled in concealment she thought. As she noticed there was a bend in the path she was approaching, she subtly altered her path, leading her tailer into a secluded area. She paused, her senses tuned to the rustling leaves.A figure emerged from the shadows."Why do you follow me? " She asked with a wave of authority." Forgive me Great One, I sensed a disturbance and feared for your safety" came the reply from the figure that was still hidden behind the leaves. The moon goddess sensed the voice as familiar but she could not point where she has heard it from before."You need not to shadow my steps because I am capable of safeguarding myself"She could hear the snicker from the shadow which confirmed her thoughts." Why do you follow me Freya, child of mortal"" What did I lack?" She asked, realizing now that the moon goddess had realized who was after her."It is not a lack dear one. The Oracle sees all, both the present and the future that may unfold, and she makes decisions for all. Your destiny may lie beyond the confines of what you seek "" What purpose did all the trials I passed through serve as if not to prove ones worth? I have fought in battles, I endured hardships, I trained hard to be strong, I did everything all in the name of our packs prosperity. Why then did the Oracle not see my present and future of being worthy and seemed suitable of being by the Alpha heir's side?"The ways of the Oracle are not for human comprehension" the goddess could barely manage to mutter.Freya in her desperation continued, she took a step closer from the shadows where she had been"I cannot accept that there is no reason,no explanations. Am I unworthy of an explanation from the Oracle's mouthpiece as well? I need to understand why I was overlooked, why my devotion was not enough. I need to understand why the Oracle had me made the Hunter's leader when she did not trust my devotion to the pack, I need to understand why the scars I have suffered and endured were not enough to prove my worth. My sacrifices,my devotions, were they in vain? I need answers,I need explanations. Why did the Oracle not deem me worthy of her favour? Have I not sacrificed enough?"" Child of the earth and sky.... The moon goddess went." Your worth is not measured solely by your sacrifices. The Oracle's decisions are guided by forces beyond mortal understanding."Freya's lips curled in a scornful sneer."Forces beyond mortal understanding? Or perhaps the Oracle's whims are as fickle as the wind, playing favourites without reason or merit."The moon goddess' gaze hardened lightly, a hint of warning in her voice."Do not presume to question the Oracle's wisdom. There are intricacies at play that you cannot comprehend"" Perhaps I comprehend more than you think!" Freya shot back, her voice dripping with disdain and pain." I have seen the blood spilled for this pack, I felt the pains of every trials endured. Yet,I am cast aside like a forgotten relic"The moon goddess' patience was wearing thin. Her tone turning colder."Your bitterness blinds you, Freya. The Oracle's vision extends far beyond your personal desires. There are greater destinies at stake""Destinies that conveniently overlook those who have given their all!" Freya retorted, her voice laced with bitterness."Your disrespect borders on insolence, The Oracle's choices are not yours to question.""For what good is blind faith when it leads only to disappointments?"" You will find no solace in disrespect Freya. Your path may not be what you expected but it is yours to navigate with either grace or bitterness"" If I was not found worthy of being the mate of the Alpha Heir, why then did the Oracle choose me to find her? Was it because I am expendable, a mere pawn in your divine game?"" Your role was not assigned lightly. There are reasons beyond your comprehension"" Reasons? Or excuses?" Freya scoffed, her anger unchecked." Did you not consider the consequences? What if I refused? What if I found the mate but decided to end her for my own interests?"" The question you ask should be directed to you, Freya. Would you?"Freya's laughter was bitter, filled with scorn."What differences does it make? I have already been denied what I deserved. Spare me your cryptic words""Never forget this... " Freya goes on." My loyalty has it's limits" " I do not know when it would run out but never forget that it has it's limits"Saying this with a defiant glare, Freya turned away to leave, her heart in a storm of emotions. The Moon Goddess stood and watch her disappear out of sight. She sighed but then continued her journey to her shrine. In the depths of his lair, Damien pondered on the issues that plagued his mind. The absence of Freya as his mate was the first puzzle that filled his mind. She had proven herself time and again of being worthy of being his mate. She wasn't old, she was still young and only older than him by perhaps a year or two, he thought. What could the Oracle have seen that he did not, and why was she not picked nor given any other mate. She pondered. As he contemplated on this, his thoughts drifted to the woman he had been seeing recurring in his dreams. Her features were always blur, but she had a birthmark at the back of her left ear.He had always wondered why that feature of hers was the first he saw whenever he had dreams about her.Freya had a birth mark too. She had a birthmark at the back of her right ear.He had always dismissed them with thoughts that she had sustained them from fights. But now, the similarities of her and the woman in his dreams birthmark kept on lingering in his memory. Was there a reason for that. He asked himself. Who was the woman."Who are you?" He whispered to the empty expanse of his lair, his gaze unfocused as he tried to grasp the fleeting fragments of his dreams."Why do you haunt my memories, yet remain beyond my reach?" He retorted." Why do things I want for myself remain beyond my reach?" He asked no one in particular.Kate stormed into their home with fury etched all over her face. Without any word, she kept on dragging Nova by her arms till they reached the dimly lit living room of their old, creaky house. Nova stumbled and fell to the floor, not shocked by her grandmother's sudden outburst, it has become a familiar scene. One that replayed too often in their strained relationship. She had witnessed it most times. This scene was always familiar to her, she had grown with it for years and had gotten used to it. Atleast the scars on most parts of her body were testaments of it. It wasn't the first time. In the past when her face etched with this kind of fury, Nova always wondered if she were truly her grandmother or if she was adopted because the punishment's she gave her then made her always want to run away from her."Why can't you ever do anything right?!!" Kate's voice was sharp, cutting through the silence like a blade. Nova remained silent, her gaze fixed on the floorboards beneath her feet.
Lucien was back at his castle. It had been a long night for him searching for the blood he had heard it's scent to no avail. He was frustrated and annoyed and laid on his bed writhing as he was loosing his strength. The head Sentinel Darian Stormrider, watched him from the window of his room. He had immediately understood what was happening to him and had instructed another sentinel to deliver to the others and bring one of their female breeders for him. When they had brought her, he had pushed her into the room and locked it from the outside, he and the other sentinels had left. The girl had cried her hearts out before she entered the Royal Chamber room, only keeping quiet as she was pushed in, knowing that any noise coming from her would make her have a death more painful than the one her fellow late breeders had encountered in the past. She was just the daughter of one of the breeders, she had been born in the Vampires realm. Her human mother had been brought in when the agreement
Night had fallen when the maids of the Gothic palace had the body of the breeder that had her blood consumed thoroughly cleaned and placed in a sack awaiting Darian Stormrider's orders. As per the norm, he would journey out at night and go meet his spies from the Werewolf realm and give them the body.Even though they were humans too, that didn't bother them anymore as they were not in the same rank as the breeders. They preyed on it. Vampires consumed blood while the werewolves fed on the body, and as a fee for them helping him out as his spies and take tellers from the adversaries kingdom, he always brought the dead body of whatever breeder that had their blood consumed to them.Werewolves had stopped hunting for their human preys ever since the Demon hunters killed one of their own that hunted a human once and wanted to prey on her body.Since then, they had sticked to hunting wild animals of the forest and bushes for consumption.Feeding on the body of a human was a luxury that ex
Nova stared at the moon wishing for hope as she was losing strength. Her powers could not compete with that of her grandmother's.She had tried different psychic ways to make the cage loose but each time, she always failed to break it, and her little strength too. For the past 17 years she had lived with her grandmother, she had always wondered whether her grandmother was really her late mother's mother. She always treated her coldly and this had always left her wondering what situation could have happened to her in the past that made her become this way. This was the second day she had locked her out of the yard. She was inside the cage, under the half Moon, she was weak and feeble. It was possible for her to survive the other days her grandmother had her locked in her room without food. She could bear it because then, she had always had snacks and junks hidden in different corners of her room but now that she was locked outside in the cage with no blanket and nobody to help her
Alpha Heir Damien continued to stare at Freya for a few minutes without saying a word, before he was able to gather courage to speak up."You're going to find her?" He asked."Yes, I will find her for you" she answered with a facade, pretending to stay strong and I bothered about it even though it crushed her insides."How would you find her? Even the moon goddess did not know where she was. Where do you plan to look to find her?" He added, trying so hard to conceal the lace of care In his voice."I plan to look for her in the human realm"" The ... Uhhohh" " I thought the Hunter's were back? Are you not scared of running into them? What if you turn back to a werewolf before you find a shade to hide?" He asked this time around, without hiding the worry in his voice." I am a witch Damien, I might not have the powers of a witch but I am a witch, and can take on my human form for as long as I want" she replied. He looked into her eyes hoping to unmask what she felt or thought but it did
With her gaze locked in to his throbbing member, he watched as her hands slid down her body, one stopped at her breast, the other travelled down further. Her legs opened wider and her fingers slid down her wetness and inside of her own wet hole. She plunged her finger in and out, and he could see the wetness shine from her finger tips. His hand continued up and down his shaft, her eyes fixed on his hand, his eyes fixated on her fingers. They both played with themselves, each inching closer to their own release.Every now and then he would watch as her hand travelled back up and she licked her fingers clean, her eyes would close and a soft moan would escape her lips, then back down between her legs.Once he started to get closer, she looked at his eyes and said soft and breathlessly, "come for me, on me!"He watched as her fingers played and then she lifted her breast and licked her nipple. Between the intensity of his strokes climbing, and the visual excitement he was watching, he wa
Freya walked into The Phoenix bar. She was granted entry because she had her ID.She had made one on one of her visits to the human realm, while on a tour. Her eyes scanned the environment, hoping to catch a glimpse of anyone that seemed to have a fir to their skin. She also made her nose more open in a bid to perceive the scent of any werewolf.Lucien had seen her go in. He thought it was Nova, whom he had related with the other day and he had gone after her, hoping to get closer to her.Watching her go in alone, he had been surprised how she was able to bypass the security."She wasn't granted entry days ago when she came, why did they let her in now. She should still be a few days underage" he thought while following her closely behind.Freya was on her third trip around the tables as she picked up the scents of people she saw.She felt a hand grab her. She followed, thinking it was one of her fellow werewolves who has followed her as a backup but when she saw an unfamiliar face, sh
But then, she sensed the haughty shadow behind her. The shadow seemed to carry an unfamiliar scent. Her senses were heightened as she found out she was being followed along the deserted bush. She could hear the echo of footsteps, it rang in her ears that were fast picking up any sounds coming from her surroundings. The stores were irregular and had been crafted to synchronize with hers so she wouldn't notice as the person might have found out what she was, she thought.Glancing over her shoulder casually with a face bearing untold disgusts from the suspicion, caught glimpses of a shadow darting from one alley to another behind her.She increased her pace, subtly but swiftly without alerting her follower and in the twinkle of an eye, she seemed to have disappeared.Lucien stood in the middle of the path, lost as to where she could have disappeared to, but also curious as to her rank in the werewolf world to possess such finely trained skills. It was no doubt that werewolves we're good
