“M—mother,” I stammered as my angry mother marched towards me. “What are you doing?”

With a smirk plastered on her face, she answered, “What do you think, Bianca?”

My mother towered before me, glaring, gripping a heavy rod, and I whimpered at her feet.

“No!” I screamed as she started hitting me with the rod she was holding. “Please don’t kill me. Please!” I pleaded, holding her legs and staring up at her, trying to stir sympathy, but all I saw were angry eyes and furrowed brows staring down at me. “Mother, please don’t kill me. I promise to be obedient.”

She whacked me with the rod as if my words had infuriated her. She struck me again and again until the rod tore my skin.

I cried, screamed, and squirmed like a worm as the pain spread through my body.

“Stop!” I cried. “Please stop. Forgive me. It hurts.”

My mother grabbed my hair and clenched it tightly, as if she wanted to rip it off my scalp. I cried louder and tapped her arm, silently begging her to let go, but she refused t
