Chapter 64

Katie's POV

I made Melissa stop the car a few blocks from my house. All the way there, I kept busy with the multiple scenarios of how badly this could end for me.

Now that the mansion was a stone's throw, I could feel my heart hitting hard against my chest.

“Are you sure you are going to be okay?” Stephen asked. He was seated in the back seat while I was in the passenger seat. I wasn't really familiar with him but he came off as a harmless person.

I shook my head, “I don't know…”

“Do you need to be escorted, I don't mind taking some of the heat.” He suggested. I appreciated his effort for someone whom I just met today, though I had a feeling he already knew who I was.

“No, it's okay. I think I have to face this on my own since it was a decision I made myself.” I assured him.

“You are not alone, Katie. You got us. Anything that happens in there, put one of us on a call and we will fall in to swoop you out.” Melissa said, giving me a reassuring smile.

“You want a piece of advice?” He
