Chapter 13

Orpheus Bathory.

I drove into my residential building with a new oxblood Rolls Royce Boat Tail. I had just returned from the coven. By magic, portals could be created to lead us to the covens directly.

"O.M.G!!!" Blaze gasped out excitedly as he saw me drive into the mansion. The compound was big enough to house up to 100 humans. It was a special mansion meant for the king and high ranked elders of the coven but father had given it to me since I was on a very special mission and would ascend the throne soon as the new vampire king.

"Brother!!" Dawn screamed out as she rushed down to where I parked the car.

She wasn't interested in me after all as she kept on walking round the car over and over again.

"Wow!! Just wow." He sneared. "Don't tell me this is your new machine??" He scowled as he scanned the car. He kicked the tyre twice to confirm how awesome it was.

I stepped down from the car with a long face. Lawst wouldn't easily give up on the throne. I had double-crossed him the moment I was naturally loved by magic and I was an original vampire like my father, Vladimir.

I altered the tradition of the coven as Lawst being the brother to the king would no longer be the next king but would step aside while I became king and his son would take over his place as the second ranked vampire in the coven.

One of the guards that had escorted my car from my arrival to my massion had helped carry my luggage inside as I gave the other one the key to park my car well in the garage.

"You don't seem happy." Blaze snapped as he helped me take off my coat. "How did the meeting go with the council??" He asked.

"Lawst must have gained more power since I left the coven. The council members seems to be scared of him." I gnashed my teeth angrily as I punched the wall.

"Come on Orpheus!" He called out to me as he brought out a chilled Hennessy from the white mini refrigerator in my room. "What does Lawst wants this time around??" He asked as he poured me some Hennessy.

"In the next 3 full moon nights I am to bring a vampire-werewolf hybrid of a rival coven for the sacrifice and failure to do so, Alaric would take up the mission and I will return back to the coven never to ascend the throne but Alaric." I growled.

"Lawst would definitely make his son, Alaric, succeed in the mission." He snapped. "Why don't you dispatch some vampires to the woods??"

I crashed down on my swivel chair as I swiveled myself round repeatedly. "Tomorrow would be the best time to do so, since it's the third full moon night of my mission. Certainly tomorrow would bring in some good news." I smiled inwardly. "But you'll stay back to look after Dawn. No harm must come near her." I muttered.

Stefan Malfoy.

"Heyy Lucinda??" I called out. She was busy brewing the coffee for madamé Elisabeta.

"Huh??" She turned around to look at me.

"Um.. i-i wanted to discuss something with you." I stuttered as I shifted backwards a bit to rest my butt on the table.

The staffs were busy with the restaurant and in the kitchen. They had to prepare a whole lot of delicacies so we don't end up running out of orders.

Meeting Lucinda had been the best thing that ever happened to me. I was orphaned a long time ago, 4 year in infancy I could still remember when some vampire rogues had attacked our residence and putting a stake through my parents heart.

I could still hear my mother's voice when she pleaded for me to run far away from home. And as most vampires in the secret house came to meet madamé Elisabeta, mine was completely different as I was picked half dead out of starvation. I was lost nowhere in the jungle and was at the mercy of fvcking werewolves.

All my life I've spent them loving one person and that was Lucinda. And I went completely crazy when I heard she passed the last test which made her an ascendant like me.

"I-i." I stuttered. "Why don't you, um, give me a chance to prove to you that I really love you??" He mumbled.

"Heyy, come on!!" She chuckled. "You know you're just like a brother to me. When I got to the secret house you always showed up for me and protected me when need be." She muttered as she maintained eye contact with me.

"Why do you always turn my proposal down Lucinda??" I whimpered. "I really love you and would love to spend the rest of my life with you in my arms!" I shrugged.

"Stefan??" She called out to me as I watched her face get blank. "I, we can not date each other. By the way I'm 21 already and you're 20. I-i love matured guys." She sighed shortly as she stared at me. "Trust me, soon enough you'll get to see someone who would truly love you with her all!" She mumbled.

"But…" She had shut my lips just immediately as she placed her right index finger on my lips.

"No but.!" She said as she smiled. "I need to get madamé Elisabeta her coffee before she flares up." She chuckled as she turned away to continue brewing the coffee.

I stood still for a while as I counted my fifth rejection from her. "If I can't have you Lucinda, then no one, I repeat no one else can ever have you!" I cursed inwardly.

"Heyy lovey dovey.!" Rebekah had stormed in as she breathe hard. Definitely she had something important to say.

"What's it??" I scowled in annoyance.

"Mr. Romeo just stopped by and he said he needs an espresso from his lovey dovey here.!" She laughed hard pointing at Lucinda who was still confused.

"Huh??" Lucinda gasped out.

"The man on suit and the man from the bar.!" She whispered. "Your Mr. Romeo!!"

I saw the quick smile that ran through Lucinda's face the moment she knew who it was.

"He fvcking needs you know!!" Rebekah scowled. "Let me help you here, customers first!!" They both giggled.

Lucinda had cleaned her face as she arranged her brows properly before she walked out to go see her new customer.

"Do they really have something together??"
