HIS DEADLY CALL

Chapter 3

"I don't understand. "I never said I needed a husband, and you never discussed this with me, so what do you mean by saying he is my husband?" She yells, her mind struggling to accept the new information as her heart was beating so fast looking at the man infront of her sitting with a grin plastered on his face.

"I am sorry I never discussed this with you, Sarah, but you just have to take it anyway because it's already happening." Her mother said, almost begging for her not to ask questions but she has the feeling she is not sincere.

"You know well enough that you are already ready for marriage; you are 24 years old, Sarah, so you don't expect to remain here and just eat." Her father said, as sound like it was an insult. Her eyes was covered with tears, her vision is blurry.

"What are you saying to me?" A snob scaped her mouth, wishing this is all just a dream.

"You never told me I was becoming a burden to you, nor do you for once in ten years let me out of the house for your own reason, and now you want to blame me?" She sighed heavily, she saw how the man named Mr. Nathaniel nodded at the men behind him making a signal, they stepped closer towards her and gripped her hands.

"I'm not putting the blame on you, Sarah; I just want you to realize that you are no longer a kid and therefore should get married." Her mother told her, she was gasping for air as she tries to escape.

"When you two are finished with that stupid conversation, meet me outside," Ruthless interrupts, walking out on them. The men beside her slightly pulled her. “Let’s go,” The man wearing a black tuxedo said.

"Hey! Who the fuck do you think you are, huh?" Sarah fired at him angrily, watching as he gave a pause, turned his stare back to her, and pulled a gun shooting it directly into her hand.

"No one questions me; bring her to the car; let's get the fuck out of here," He roars watching as his guards carry out his order carring her like she was just a piece of trash walking towards the car.

Her mother follows immediately rushing towards her while she groans in pain, but before she could get close enough, the guards stopped her, pushing her backward roughly.

"She's going to bleed to death; please let me dress her wound; I'm a nurse; I can take good care of her," she exclaimed, but the guards walked out, and Sarah rested on one of them, her blood half-soaking his white suit.

They rest her in the car outside the mansion, taking their position and speeding away.

"As soon as we get home, take her to the herbalist for immediate treatment," Mr. Nathaniel grunts, lighting a cigarette and looking at Sarah, who groans in pain from where she lies.

The car pulls directly into the golden garage, and a guard rushes to the ruthless position, quickly opening the door for him to step out with a bow, because delay is death.

"Tell the wedding planner to get things planned out because we have a wedding on Saturday," He says as he walks into his mighty mansion, lighting yet another stick of cigarettes, his tenth for the day.

He walks straight to his room, bouncing on his bed as soon as he gets in, allowing the fan to do justice to his sweaty skin, and lighting yet another stick of cigarettes.

"Maid," he yells, and within the twinkle of an eye, his personal maid rushes into the room, her head rendering praises to the ground as it is bowed slightly.

"I need a hot water bath and, of course, three rounds of sex," he orders, watching as she gives a final bow before scrambling away in a hurry to carry out his instruction.

"You should have known Mr. Nathaniel by now," the herbalist the guards have taken her to advised Sarah, treating her wound after successfully extracting the bullet from her body and watching her grunt in pain.

"You have lost too much blood from this injury that you have sustained," she adds, sewing up her flesh, making her give out a loud yelp.

"Please stop it," she managed to say through gritted teeth, her tears already baptizing her face and running down her makeup.

"Be calm, please," the healer urged, but her words seem to fall on deaf ears as Sarah continues with her action; she couldn't control the pain, so the only way to release herself was to endure it, giving the healer a hard time, but finally heaving a sigh of relief, she is finished stitching the wound.

"Here we go, dear." "I am done with stitching, but you have to wait a bit because I will also have to apply this for your wound to heal on time, and hopefully by tomorrow you will be fine again," she adds, pulling out a bottle filled with a pink liquid substance.

"Sincerely, this substance is going to hurt you for now, but trust me, it will cease the pain you are going through now and will also help dry your wound over time, so just endure the pain now and heal up quickly," she says, drawing closer to Sarah, who watches fearfully, her eyes almost bulging out of their sockets.

She dipped her hand into the liquid, and after observing Sarah for a while, she forcefully applied the liquid to Sarah, who tried her best to escape but couldn't because the woman is way stronger than her.

"Here we are; we are done with this," she says, staring at Sarah as she screams out the substance already affecting her.

"Don't worry, the pain will soon seize, so just release and watch it stop just like magic," she advised, watching further as Sarah nodded and relaxed her back on the sofa next to her.

Sarah raised her head in fear when she heard a loud knock on the door.

"What if the devil is here, the ruthless, to finish her off?" She thought fearfully, hoping her mind was playing a trick on her.

"Come in," she hears the healer say, and she stares towards the door, where she now sees a pretty maid in a perfectly styled dress, her face holding a welcoming smile.

"Mr. Nathaniel wants Miss Sarah in his room right away," she says with a slight bow, walking away before Sarah could throw her question at her.

"Why does he want to see me?" she asks the healer, who just stares without responding.

"I don't know, dear, but I think you should get going because the ruthless hate delay," the healer advised, leading her out of the room.
