Maya's eyes suddenly widened as she realized one thing Lucas lived more than himself was his reputation and there was no way he was going to react rashly outside under the scrutiny eyes of everyone.

“Lucas Dear…” she began and Lucas' rage grew, if possible.

Regardless she took steps backwards before dying while flagging down an invite that looked so similar to the one on the others hand.
