A smile appeared on Elise's lips and she sat upright. She folded her legs and covered them with her blanket. She raised the phone close to her face and reduced its brightness.

'Hi, how are you doing?' she texted the fan, who was no other than Mercedes.

'I'm fine. Thanks for responding to my message, I am sorry for disturbing your sleep,' The message popped into Elise's inbox, but before Elise could reply, three dots appeared on her screen, showing that Mercedes was about to text something else.

'I hope you aren't angry with me,'

Elise smiled and responded, 'I'm not angry, maybe a little disturbed, but I'm fine. I want to thank you for sending those lovely flowers. Staring at them made me feel good. I appreciate your kindness,'

'You are welcome. I'm so glad you love them. I could send you more,' Mercedes sent another message.

'No, you shouldn't go through such stress. I don't want you to spend so much money. I'm happy with what you sent me. Thank you so much,'
