Welcome To Yardstin

In the early hours of the morning, just before the sun rose and cast its golden ray across the sky, Paige drove her Kia Rondo down to Yardstin.

The past few days had been very hectic for her, from checking and balancing stock at PB, to packing her bags and making sure that she didn't forget anything, then reporting to work to pick up her leave permit which was stress free and successful.

She knew her journey to Yardstin was definitely going to be a long one but she didn't care. Having spent lots of money trying to get decent hand-me-down clothes and shoes, she was almost penniless.

There was no way she could afford a flight to Yardstin hence her reason for being on the road battling with minimal traffic and struggling with a road map The engine of her Kia Rondo which she named Charlotte roared softly as she drove through the streets of Acubana.

Gentle and cool air seeped through the not so closed windows of Charlotte. Paige turned on the music player to beat the quietness. 'You're just too good to be true' by Lauryn Hills started playing. This was one of her favorite songs, so she hummed to it.

As she hummed happily, her phone alarm blared letting her know that it was 3:00 pm already. Just then she saw the road sign that read 'Welcome to Yardstin." At the sight of this, she heaved a sigh of relief.

"It's about time." She murmured to herself.

More minutes into the ride, she was graced with gorgeous pine and Gmelina trees planted on either side of the road giving the road an immaculate appearance and a calm shade.

"In two minutes, take a right turn to Creek Island." The audio map said.

"We are here already." She chuckled, feeling so proud of herself.

Taking a turn to the right, she drove towards Creek Island and the first thing that hit her was the beauty and neatness of the streets. Pine trees gave way for Gmelina trees which in turn gave way for Palm trees and oaks spontaneously. She was blown away as she kept staring at the streets in awe. This was a clear opposite of what she was used to where she came from.

Then she saw it, she saw the mansion she was going to spend three months in. It was right at the edge of the road with its high walls and sparkly paint. "Oh my God!" She exclaimed in admiration.

If she'd known that the mansion was this gorgeous, she would have signed the contract from the first day she got it. She thought to herself as she smiled. Indeed the picture Nathan showed her didn't do justice to the house.

"Maybe the house was renovated." She thought to herself. Because the picture she saw had a dull appearance than what she was currently looking at. Even from a distance, the mansion looked perfect.

In a couple of minutes, Paige drove up to the main entrance of the mansion. She was received by the security at the gate and her ID cross checked before letting her in.

Once the gate was opened to her, she continued her now slow ride into the beautiful mansion. Charlotte slowly came to a stop as her engines purred and Paige parked slowly in front of the Kentleys residence.

She spent a few minutes inside the car making a mental note of all the cars in the garage. She swung her head to the sides as she realized that Charlotte was the odd one amongst them.

There was a Lexus ES250, a Ford pickup, a Chevrolet and a Mercedes Benz all lined up in the garage struggling for attention.

"Charlotte, your presence must be intimidating these wannabe's. I pray they don't tell me to park you behind the mansion. Because, they'll definitely feel intimidated by you. I can feel it." Paige said sarcastically to her beloved Kia Rondo.

A knock on the window brought her back to reality. She rolled down Charlotte's window and was faced by a man who introduced himself as Sherman, the butler of the house.

"May I open the door for you?" He asked Paige.

"Oh no, I've got that." Paige replied and opened the door herself. She could swear Sherman would never succeed in opening Charlotte's door on the first attempt, no matter how hard he tries. So, she didn't bother letting him try.

"You must be the Nurse?" Sherman asked.

"Yes please, it's nice meeting you." She replied and offered him a handshake, but received a bow from Sherman instead.

"We've been waiting for you. Welcome ma'am. The booth," he said pointing at Charlotte's booth. "I need to get your luggages inside."

He further said and headed to the now opened booth. They were altogether three heavy boxes and Sherman succeeded in bringing them down from Charlotte's booth.

Paige heaved a sigh of relief seeing that the boxes came down in one piece. While packing the bags, she had tried her best to curtail the number of items she needed to travel with thereby reducing her luggages to just three. Every single item in those boxes were quite important to her so there was nothing she could do about it.

A car horn went off behind her and she turned to see a black BMW accompanied by an SUV drive into the garage just as she stepped onto the front porch of the house. One of the men in the BMW came down and opened the door of the SUV to allow an extremely gorgeous man with muscles threatening to burst out through his tight black shit out.

He had the most handsome face Paige has ever seen with hair neatly trimmed. His first action was to look at Charlotte, then Paige.

"I take it that you are my mother's carer? The handsome man asked as he walked up to them.

"Good afternoon sir. Yes, my name is Paige Patterson." She replied, stretching out a hand for a handshake which he received. They shook hands briefly before letting go.

"I'm Simon, not Sir. I love to be addressed as Simon." He said in a serious tone. "Sherman!" He called to have the butler bow in response. "Take those boxes to her room and try not to mess up my porch." Sherman nodded and got to work immediately. Then be turned to Paige.

"Do you always pack the whole city with you while traveling?" He asked, still keeping a straight face. "Try not to mess up the porch with your numerous baggage. It seems you didn't go through your copy of the contract." He said and started walking away.

"I did," Paige started. "I...."

But Simon was already inside his SUV before she could complete her sentence.

"What kind of human moves this fast?" She thought to herself.

"Good evening ma'am, may I take you to your room now?" A maid asked, interrupting her thoughts.

She turned, and noticed that her bags had all been moved inside successfully.

"Yes please." She replied and followed her inside.

Paige gushed at the beauty of the mansion as she was led to her room. Her admiration tripled when she stepped inside her room. If she said the mansion was exquisite while she was still outside, she was a hundred percent correct. Her bedroom further succeeded in proving her right. The details of every single furniture in the room was elegant.

"Would you like me to run a bath for you ma?" The maid asked.

"Oh no, I'm fine. I'll help myself, you can go please." She replied feeling the need to be left alone so as to savor the beauty of her new room. Yes, her room!

"If you need me, just press the white button at your bedside and I'll be at your service." The maid said and bowed slowly before leaving the room.

Once she was gone, Paige bounced on the bed happily. The smooth velvet pillow slip kissed her face and sent beautiful shivers down her spine. The bedsheets and duvet did the lord's work on her skin and she couldn't help but imagine what her skin would feel like after spending three whole months at the Kentleys.

She woke up from her short beauty sleep as a result of whispers from the maids who were in her room to inform her about dinner. Initially, she felt she was dreaming until she opened her eyes and saw them standing beside her, contemplating waking her up or letting her sleep.

"Good evening ma'am. They greeted in unison when they realized she was awake.

Paige sat up immediately recalling that she was not in her room back at Elfer-town. "Is there a problem?" She asked them.

"No ma'am. We just wanted to let you know that dinner will be served in fifteen minutes." Samira, the maid that attended to her earlier, replied with a bow.

"Thank you, I'll be downstairs shortly." She told them and they turned to leave.

Once they were gone, Paige made her way to the bathroom. There was so much to unpack and she was happy she got some sleep already. She decided that after dinner, she will get into the business of unpacking her boxes.

Opening the bathroom door, she once again appreciated wealth and luxury. These were two perfect words that could best describe the bathroom she just stepped into. Trying not to wallow in admiration, she quickly took a shower after which she changed into a yellow and orange dress pairing it with her favorite orange fur loafers.

Knotted her hair behind her ears then made headed out to the corridor in a bid to trace her way to the dining hall downstairs.

Just after closing the door behind her, Paige heard a soft moan coming from the room at the end of the corridor.

'Mind your business Paige Patterson.' A voice screamed in her head.

Yet curiosity took the better part of her.

She turned towards the stairs to continue down but the moans came again and again. Then it kept coming nonstop.

Pushing the silent warning in her head far away to the back of her head, she found herself walking towards the source of the voice.

Luckily for her, she was putting on fur loafers. So, there was little to no sound from her legs. As she followed the source of the voice, she noted that aside from her room, there was just one other room on the floor and that was the room the voice was coming from.

Seconds later, she got close to the said room and discovered that the door was slightly open. Just wide enough to see whatever was happening inside the room and what she saw shocked the hell out of her.

Simon Kentley was standing with his back to the door and a lady between his thighs. He moaned while seeking balance with one of his hands stretching out to the bed rails with the other hand holding the lady's head in place.

At this moment, Paige knew she was meant to turn back and find her way to the dining room but she was caught up. Fascinated by what she was seeing and curious to see more. Not to mention that her whole body was feeling so weird at this point.
